With the introduction of tradable chests, the team over at Immutable is looking to take the first step in cementing Gods Unchained as the pioneers of blockchain based TCGs. These chests include 6 Genesis packs (either Legendary or Rare), with only 5000 Legendary chests being produced. Before these chest were announced, it wasn't possible to trade "unopened" packs between players, since the contents of Gods Unchained packs are determined as soon as their purchased. With the addition of these chests, it is now possible to keep the pack contents a mystery, as long as the chest remains unopened. You must either open all 6 packs within at once, or keep them all sealed, and packs contents won't be determined until the chest is opened. This feature allows for the collecting and holding of these chests, to sell or trade at a later date.
What makes this point in time historic is the fact that Gods Unchained is the first of its kind, and is pushing the envelope for not only all future blockchain based TCGs, but all blockchain based games! These Genesis chests are in limited supply, and once the beta sale ends in 10 days, they will never be produced again. Holding onto these chests could also be seen as a long term investment, seeing as how the first ever set from Magic the Gathering is garnering over $7,000 per pack, and an astounding $150,000 per box! Nobody is quite sure what the future of Gods Unchained holds, but taking this step ensures that both trading and collecting are at the top of Immutable's priority list!
