I would share with you some tips that you should evaluate by yourself before investing on a blockchain/crypto project:

PROJECT - try to understand the project  through their website, through their whitepaper and be focused mainly on identifying if it is an innovative project that solves some current problems. Evaluate the feasibility of the project because there are many interesting projects out there that are not feasible. Highlight the features that characterize the project and if possible make a comparison with other projects that try to do the same thing. Furthermore evaluate if it is a working project or it the project behind it has some prototype.

TOKEN SUPPLY - assess well the amount of tokens that are currently circulating and how many will be in the future because new tokens put on the market will affect the value of the token itself. Evaluate if there is any type of coin burn or other mechanism that may affect the supply in the future. Moreover evaluate the market capitalization to see if there is still room for growth.

COMMUNITY - The community that is interested in a project is important because the success of the project also depends on it. So, evaluates the various social channels of the project: reddit, youtube, twitter, facebook, telegram, etc... See if there are so many interested people and what are their feelings and evaluations about the project.

ROADMAP - checks the project's roadmap to understand the objectives to be achieved and its future evolution. Solid projects have clear and precise objectives for the coming years. A smoky roadmap with no clear objectives over the years is a sign to be taken into account before investing.

TEAM - assess the team to verify that they have the skills to complete and maintain the project. Verify the number of people working on it, the past jobs and check if they are hiring other people.

By doing your research taking into account these points you will be more confident about investing on the project. Give a score to each of the listed points and do an average. Then, based on the result you can make a better decisione.
