Today, AI deepfake is the latest trend in scammers orchestrated plan to steal crypto from people and their choose carefully which famous person they will use on their videos to easy convince people to send them crypto.
The most recent case on this, was a video on a fake channel in YouTube had a deepfake character poised as Tim Cook, the Apple CEO, asking people to send him Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT. Why people should send him that amount? Because he promises to double it and send back to them. Obviously, pure scam.
The most surprising is that people fall for that and actually send money to those deepfake videos. More than $5M have been lost until today as part of this "new" trend of scams.
As the crypto market evolves and new tools being discovered it's important to keep up with them, know how to get protected and use that in your favor.
