To start your battle you will need 4 different avatars and, when you start playing, you'll have some that are playable and some that you have to unlock with one of the in-game currencies, Blocks. You'll win one every time you win a game - pile them up and you can buy a new avatar.
Faketoshi is a Tanker and, as soon as you release it on the battle field it will attack the nearest structure. I use it as bait all the time because AI always sends it's avatars to attack, preferably, Faketoshi and our minions - if they are in range, of course.
Laszlo Pizza is a ranged unit and a very versatile one. It's both strong enough to handle a few blows and has a good efficiency against enemy melee units. It's not very good against structures, though.
Alpaca Socks is a versatile melee unit, good against melee or ranged units and fast enough to go after minions. It's also good against buildings.
Lightning Network is the fastest ranged unit. Besides having a good range it can also move quite fast. I use it as an infiltrator, sending it directly to the enemies Hub, creating a distraction while my other units release mayhem on the front lines.
The Gox is very effective against minions, it stomps the ground and deals damage to three minions at the same time.
Darknet is the most powerful melee unit. A perfect combination between power and durability.
Jack is fast enough and good against other avatars but not very resistant.
Ross the Pirate is an overall good melee unit but not as good as Darknet.
Maximalist is a strong ranged unit that can suffer a few blows while attacking other units or structures.
Without the shadow of a doubt, Validator is my preferred unit. It's a powerful ranged unit and also a tanker. It doesn't target other avatars but it will destroy a tower with 3 shots and the Hub with 7. Protect it with other avatars and you'll win pretty fast.
When you start buying avatars, buy this one first.
Halving is a balanced and good unit against other avatars, not the best though.
