House of Crypto, is a game, still in Open Beta, that let's you learn about Crypto while you play. Is as simple as that.
How does it work?
1. Choose a nickname and register.
2. Choose your House.
3. Battle and make your house win.
4. Get a share of the bi-weekly crypto pool. As for now (February 2021) there's 1000 ALGO, 0.012 BTC, and 15 ZEN to be divided by all the players of those Houses.
Can i earn crypto while playing HOC?
Yes you can. On the first airdrop cycle i got 100 Algorand, which was roughly €54/65$ directly into my wallet, which was a blast! I never got money for playing! On the second airdrop cycle rules changed and every player is entitled to get a maximum of $20 in crypto.
How can i get my Crypto?
Play, win battles and this will grant you stars and those will be added to your current balance and also to the House Balance. At the end of the cycle, you get your share of crypto depending on the correlation of stars/prize-money/stars of your team. If your team has 1000 stars at the end of the cycle and you have 100 stars you'll get 10%. If you are playing for Algorand you'll get 100 Algo and, depending on the market price you can get a maximum of $20.
It will be transferred to your wallet at the end of the cycle. Algorand and Horizen are paid using Binance, so i used my Trust Wallet, Bitcoin uses a ZenGo Address - i created one for the second cycle.
Choose Your House: Algorand, Bitcoin or Horizen - House of ETH is coming on the next cycle. More houses will join soon.
Choose your avatars. You have to choose four for your upcoming battle. On their stats you can see that they have different values of Health, Attack and Speed. You have to choose your avatars wisely so that you can win the battle. Check my other article about their strengths and abilities.
Avatars have different skills and it's not a good idea to play only with ranged units or only with melee. Balance is key. If you want to learn the perfect attack strategy for House Bitcoin, head up over here.
Faketoshi is a tanker, very useful when combined with other units. It targets the closest tower and attacks so i use it as bait, most of the time to distract game's AI controlled avatars.
Battle
You start with 5 towers and a Hub. The purpose is to destroy the enemy's towers and Hub while protecting yours.
Every 30 seconds, both Hubs will release 3 minions that will target the nearest tower/hub. Usually the enemy's avatars will target the minions first - use this to your advantage by attacking on a different flank.
Attacking the Hub can be a winning strategy but I have already won with no Hub. It really depends on your strategy and gameplay. Also on your available avatars.
You win when you destroy all the enemy's constructions.
You'll get 1 Block, used to buy new avatars, 10 Chain, a currency that can be used on the store (not available yet) and 50 stars counting for your ranking.
Losing will take you 10 Chain and 20 Stars.
House of Crypto is also a way of learning about the different Crypto Currencies. Each House has a couple of videos that you can watch and win Chain.
