Who's up for a cozy comforting snack/ dessert?
Milkrice - a total comfort food with just the perfect texture and sweetness! 🍚 It’s a traditional dish from where we come from, and it seems that I see my grandma cooking it as long as I can think back! It’s kinda creamy dessert risotto but can be served at all times. As a sweet main dish, dessert, breakfast or simply as a snack!
The best is yet to come: only a handful ingredients are needed for this old-time dessert risotto.
Plus, it also tastes good at home huddled on the couch. We are total outdoor lovers and need to connect with mother nature, which makes this period quite a difficult time for us. However, we are aware of how important it is right now to follow the rules and stay at home for us, everybody that surrounds us and all the medics in charge. (BIG THANKS to them!) Still we cook in our garden and enjoy the warm rays of sunlight, observing the flowers blossoming and the green grass growing in this beautiful time of the year. We shouldn't forget that it's spring! 🌸

Ingredients:
1 cup rice
2 ½ cups milk
1 tbsp. cane sugar
1 tbsp. raisins (optional)
small piece of lemon zest (optional)
1-2 tbsp. cacao powder / cinnamon
salt

-Stir in the rice, add the milk. Add the raisins, lemon zest, sugar and a pinch of salt.
-Cook for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally until the rice is firm to the bite. If necessary stir in more milk. To finish dust with cacao powder or cinnamon.
