Uber is apparently considering using stablecoins to reduce costs.
As it turns out, transferring money globally is a huge (and daily) part of the business, and it costs money (duh).
This is interesting, because it once again highlights how huge businesses often save money or spend money on things that surprise you.
Anyway, the bottom line is that Uber operates globally, in several different markets using different currencies, and this is a problem, hence why the ride-hailing giant is considering using stablecoins.
According to the CEO, using stablecoins could streamline Uber’s payment processes and lower foreign exchange fees.
That is fair.
I would also include crypto payments in the app, but that's just me.
