One of the OGs of crypto sponsors the RNC

By LeftFooted | bitcoinea | 17 Jul 2024

I was having a look around on X when I saw the hashtag 'Boycott Starbucks' trending.

So I had a look and found out that people made it trend because Starbucks is apparently sponsoring the 2024 RNC, the Republican National Committee.

Along with Starbucks, I saw other logos and sponsors, most of them quite obscure to me, but there was one logo that stood out and that's Ripple.

As in, Ripple XRP, one of the oldest crypto projects.

Crypto firms are no longer pretending they're not supporting Republican policies, and it's easy to see why.

Gary Gensler, the SEC Chair, has done absolutely everything he can to harm crypto, and he's a Biden's man. And, generally speaking, Democrats have so far shown a lot less support for crypto than Republicans.

I want to make it clear, though.

By default, I, like most people here I presume, stand by whoever supports crypto. There's no doubt about that.

But, I also believe that, in the long run, whether politician A or B supports crypto or not is irrelevant.

Crypto will win. Whether Republicans do or not.
