A CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK: BCH DEVELOPER JASON DREYZEHNER PROPOSES THREE NEW UPGRADES
Jason Dreyzehner a prominent BitcoinCash developer, has proposed three new improvement proposals for the May 2026 BCH upgrade. The proposals aim to enhance the BCH network’s functionality and efficiency. The first proposal, CHIP 2021–05 Loops, introduces bounded looping operations to the BCH virtual machine, enabling more complex and efficient contract designs. The second proposal, CHIP 2024–12 OP_EVAL, allows for function evaluation, making it possible to factor BCH contract bytecode into reusable functions. The third proposal, CHIP 2024–12 P2S, standardizes Pay to Script (P2S) outputs, improving wallet ecosystem safety and simplifying contract design. These proposals have the potential to make BCH contracts more efficient than those on other chains, such as Ethereum and Solana, and are expected to be improved and discussed in 2025.
