The Satochip Hardware Wallet is a low-cost option to store your cryptocurrency securely. Unlike other cryptocurrency storage options, it does not need updates, because it is a smart card with NFC support.
It supports a variety of cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Ethereum as well as EVM-compatible networks.
Satochip also offers other smart cards. The Satodime is a bearer card, just like OpenDime. It’s designed to generate and seal a pair of keys and allows you to store and exchange cryptocurrency physically, off-chain, and P2P. Satokeeper is a seedphrase manager. A hardware device to safely store your seedphrase in a secure element. Perfect for inheritance or simply to have peace of mind regarding your seedphrase.
Connectivity to the Satochip smart cards is possible via a USB reader and NFC.
To protect your assets the Satochip Hardware Wallet uses a PIN (4-16 digits).
The software for Satochip is constantly updated and publicly available as open-source on GitHub. Companies and developers can make their own modified versions of the Satochip software at any time.
You can get a smart card for €25 and a compatible card reader for €19,99. Technically it is also possible to use a card reader from a different company if you already have one.
It is also possible to use the card reader from Satochip for other chip cards you may have for different purposes.
Businesses can get the Satochip Hardware Wallet with their branding and custom solutions for their specific needs can be developed by Satochip.
Instructions on how to connect the Electron Cash Wallet and other wallets are available.
The setup of the card is very simple and instructions are provided by Satochip, but you can always get tech support on their official Telegram channel (English or French support is available)
The checkout process allows you to select free or tracked shipping and payment options with a credit card, SEPA, cryptocurrencies, and Bancontact.
