Y-Youth
Another wonderful word that as one gets older you really appreciate... Today, I look around my coworkers and they are all much younger then me but that is to be expected at 57. I look back at my youth with primarily positivity. Great times with family, school, music and sports... some adventures for sure.
When I See patients I am in awe of the ability, strength and quickness of many people in their youth. nothing hurts. Many have so much energy and when you are older wow do you appreciate that. When you wake up and mentally you still feel youthful and playful but the old body does not keep up. I absolutely admire the resilience of youth.
Take a minute to think of a few of those happy times in your youth. For many that is the case, but other no.
When i got cancer I reflected a lot on should of, could of, would ofs.... travel, more time with family... what would I do over again. I realized quickly that you can only look forward.
Given the events of late... Covid, Black lives matter movement.... I truly believe its about or youth and us setting positive examples of love, understanding and respect.
Do not forget this....
We were born into our lives- it was not our choice but random. WE grow up in many different circumstances. Many youthave h had a lot more advantages than others. Never take that for granted. Many of us never thought too much about that concept in our youth... Maybe, we should have. As we look at where we are as a nation and we reflect moving forward the key to our survival and unity is respect for others and being there for and embracing our YOUTH...
You can not repeat the past, but you can learn from it. It's tough and our kids are missing out on some great memories such as trips, graduations and camps. many are missing out on jobs. But there are others living in tough challenging situations, my heart goes out to those kids....
What are the things you think of when you think of your youth?
My hope is when the young become adults they will live in a kinder world that embraces everyone....
Todays post is tough because it is getting harder and harder to explain to kids the importance of what they are doing as they continue to make sacrifices and for many miss out on beautiful milestones in this pandemic. One thing for sure they have some amazing stories to share when they are adults with their families!
Remember 2020.....
Heres to your best of heath!
