As we continue alphabet words of emotion after diagnosis is Melanoma today I go for my skin eval... head to toe exam... there is fear, lots of emotion that nothing is found. I would not wish a cancer journey like this on anyone!
My Oncologist at first said... everything will be alright then after the facts /results were in his tone changed. “I am glad you came when you did”. I was lucky to qualify for immunotherapy, insurance coverage, still able to work, able to tolerate treatments. I was so fortunate to have this therapy and also a medical background to ask the right questions.
I am fortunate that I got great care and was able to finish my book during my treatments. I am fortunate to be able to share with others my journey and support them.
I am fortunate to be alive so during this time of COVID when so many are ill and some fighting for their lives I focus on the fact that so far with social distancing, masking and being mindful of others I am healthy. I hope it stays that way
We, as a nation are struggling with isolation and COVID. There are many things we can control. For those that are struggling I am here did you through askthepa on FB and my website. I will not stop preaching safety of others and how fortunate many of us are! We need to band together put all politics aside and just do the right thing. We are fortunate to have masks and ways to protect ourselves and loved ones.
Be Safe! Many but not all are as Fortunate!
Focus on the positive and together we will get through this.
Today I focus on my patients masking and a positive Derm appointment
Beat of Health to us all!
