Blockchain games arena and the NFTs took the entire crypto world by storm and expanded this year as never before. And with that many challenges arise, projects market capital got to new highs but as fast they felt into the darkness. So why this happened? In my opinion it is because these blockchain games didn't have the power to sustain the growth from the space and while some of them made efforts to keep the pace with the high demand, they felt short in the end...
So why is Splinterlands succeeding on the blockchain games arena? It is because it has build the foundation and the economics of the game way before the mass users to jump in on it. The game is already mature now after three years of efforts (or more) and has something to offer for every new user. Not only that it was built with the blockchain in mind, but their NFTs system was here way before this domain to fly out. Thus they had time to experiment, time to listen to the community members and build a great game.
And they are not stopping here and continue to expand the use cases in both crypto and fun to play. The Splintershards is just a hit allowing players to govern the game in the future, vote for important decisions and benefit from staking their SPS through promotions participations. And that beside the other gameplay ramification and the possibility of minting your own NFTs by holding land and farming it with your army of monsters. An entire new universe starts opening and it seems to have limitless directions it can grow to and we'll have a saying in that.
I see so many other projects failing or having gone through the hype, sold out and simply cannot keep with the expectations of the players or simply not having a strategy on how the game should develop. And these games are abruptly going done and lightly disappear from the blockchain and crypto scene. Many "investors" of such games are hunting rapid gains instead of long term sustainability that we have in Splinterlands. This and a strong community are the key factors that pushed this game where it is today. And simply building solid blocks in time rather than going for the hit and run approach. We are living great time in the Splinterlands and I think brighter ones are still to come...
