I was laying down lazy on my couch watching a football game, while also posting some threads (InLeo) or snaps (PeakD) here and there on the Hive blockchain. And as my mind was flying away in all the direction, one thought remained about how we all grow in this ecosystem and some point we could reach to even have a serious stake in it. And I couldn't by tell to my self that with higher stakes, it comes higher responsibility about what you are doing to it. Spreading wealth through curation remains a prime way on how this entire ecosystem evolves, so that's need to be done more wisely while also encouraging new and promising content creators. So, what other shape could this responsibility can be... that's what I am trying to figure it out.
As we increase our stake on the Hive blockchain, responsibility becomes more apparent in several key ways. Here are some that I have thought about and I am waiting to see your opinions on this and what other dimensions are to them.
Curation
With more Hive Power, our votes hold more weight. It's crucial to use that power to reward quality content and support promising creators, as this drives the ecosystem's growth. One option is to move from 100% upvote to lower percentages. Besides this while we all tend to have favorite creators we spread our votes, not that should go towards more authors. Thus we need to browse more and discover other creators that are underappreciated.
Engagement
Higher stakes also mean more influence, so actively engaging with the community through comments and discussions can shape its direction positively. At this point, others will be more likely to listen what we are saying so we should try to promote positively the qualities of this ecosystem and try to make others adhere to the good practices from here. And besides this, if we have visions for the future we should throw them out there and see maybe some will even stick.
Investing and support
Investing in development projects or initiatives that strengthen Hive’s infrastructure can enhance long-term value for all users. And of course, also for us if the project will be successful. Besides new projects, we can support Witnesses that add value to this blockchain and through our votes they can go up and get rewarded more for block validation.
Security
Managing a larger stake demands vigilance with private keys, ensuring our assets—and the trust in the network—are well-protected. About this I have just made a post as it is always good to remember the purposes of each key and understand their importance and that we need to protect them - Hive Blockchain - Remembering the purposes and utility of Hive account wallet keys
In essence, having a significant stake on Hive is not just about personal growth, but contributing to the overall health and future of the blockchain. Balancing personal gain with ecosystem support is where true responsibility lies. In the end if the Hive blockchain is doing well, so we do, thus we should aim to support others and new projects in order to keep this ecosystem healthy.
