The Antipitta avis canies Ridgely (named after its discoverer, the ornithologist Robert S Ridgely) is the only bird discovered to bark like dogs instead of signing like other birds.
The duck like bird was discovered in 1998 in the Ecuadorian Andes. It is black and white in color and with long legs.
