What team are you on in life?
In the game of life there are many teams. Your family could be considered your team. Your job. Your town, city, or state. Your country. The list can go on. Do you know the position you are playing on your team? We all have roles in life - father, mother, daughter, son, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, cousin, significant other, again these list can go on forever.
"No man is an island, Entire of itself; Every man is a piece of the continent, A part of the main." -John Donne
How well are you performing the role you play? So much in our society it seems we are constantly rating everyone else on the job they are doing but rarely will we put ourself on the hot seat and even ask - how well am I doing?
"The world we have is because of you." - Me
The condition of society is the result of each person individually and what we DECIDE to do daily. If "everyone" were to exercise individual responsibility and was a good citizen, it could potentially eradicate 99% of the problems in the world today.
We are in an election year so all the focus is on the President and Congress. The environment is crazy political right now and everything is being said about every candidate and "the people" believe and desire someone on Capitol Hill to make their life better. Right? We always ask the question - is your life better today than it was 4 years ago?
“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand...." -Jesus
From my opinion (and those are a dime a dozen) it's not the governments responsibility to make your life better - that's up to you. I am incredibly blessed to have a good life. I know not all of my good fortune comes from my hard work alone but I've been surrounded by some really good team members.
TEAMS: Together Everyone Achieve More Success
So I encourage you today to ask this question: How well am I doing and what would my teammates say on how well I am doing in life? If you can ask that question without response to what they say - you will achieve significant personal development.
