It might be tongue-in-cheek, but a post on the BATProject Reddit page is predicting BAT will inevitably rise to an impressive $40.

A poll on the page asks users when they think the price could hit the $40 mark.

Of the more than 400 people who took part in the poll, about 120 believe the price will rise to $40 within five years. A further 140 respondents believe it will take 25 years to hit the $40 milestone.

While the Reddit post has generated plenty of discussion, many people say the prediction should be taken with a grain of salt.

"I love my BAT, it's my favourite token, but I reckon the all-time high is gonna be like $15 to be honest," Reddit user busiestbees says.

With the price of BAT currently sitting at just over 30 cents, there's no debate that BAT has a long way to go before it meets many people's future expectations.  

"I just want to see it get to $1," Reddit user almasnack says.

No matter what your prediction is on future of BAT, it's not the first time Reddit users have touted a price rise to $40.
