A few months back COVID vaccination started in India and all the front line warriors who get exposed to COVID patients got their first round of vaccination. There were mixed feelings initially on that and fortunately everything went smooth. Some people who did not understand the technicalities started spreading rumors. Later government and people who already got their vaccine shots shared their experience and it was all good after that.
It is very common to have second thoughts on such things especially when it comes to health. But over the past few months, the number of new cases has reduced considerably, and also the vaccination shots did work well on those front-line warriors.
Phase 2 has started
In the first phase, the focus was to get the doctors and other front-line warriors to get the shots. After they have all received the shots, now the general public has started getting the shots. The focus is first on elderly people who have more risk in this compared to the others. People who are over 45 years can enroll their names for this.
There are details and specifically as to how people can enroll themselves for these vaccine shots. This article provides more details on how this can be done. This is definitely good news for Indians as the situation is getting better every month.
A couple of days back our prime minister got his first round of vaccine shot and I also saw a few people getting their first shots in my family group. It is so relaxing to see this.
There has been a full lockdown in several places in India. The city where I live is far better than other places. One reason could be because almost 80 percent of the people have already got exposed to COVID and maybe the remaining are all taking their safety measures.
The situation is still very bad in some of the countries. When I hear this from some of my friends and office colleagues, I feel very bad for it. I wish the vaccination is distributed to other countries as well soon and the situation gets better everywhere. I'm confident that the situation will get back to normal at least from 2022 onwards.
One interesting thing that I noticed here is that the government of India is taking all the initiatives to make sure these vaccine shots are given as early as possible. Around 10 crore people are going to be given these shots in the coming days. This is definitely a big achievement in a short span of time.
