The below quote is one of the best things I have read today. I thought I would write an article on this topic. We all would have said people saying that money alone will not bring happiness. But before we say all that we have to make sure we have enough money or we should be experienced with the feel of having enough money.
“Money cannot buy you happiness but it is better to cry inside a car rather than on a bike.”
I don't know who came up with this quote but this is true. I have been in situations in my life where money was very important for me. I had critical situations in my life where I did not have enough money in hand. When I see people sharing some stories where someone died in the hospital because they did not have 50$ in their hand, it will be very painful to hear. 50$ may not be a big thing for me right now but once it was a big thing and I have been in such a situation. Especially in situations where I had to lend money from friends or others.
Today I'm very glad that god has kept me in a position where I'm able to make use of my money wisely as I know the value of the money. Yes, money alone will not bring happiness. Even though I earn enough money to survive today and have enough skill set to survive even if my money flow stops from tomorrow, happiness is completely a different thing. We cannot relate money with happiness. Many people do that and think that money is not going to bring happiness anyway and why spend our energy on earning a lot of money?
I would say that there are many things that money can buy and those small things can also bring happiness. I wouldn't say they are permanent happiness but at least a temporary happiness money can bring us. Money will bring us happiness but money alone is not sufficient. That's the point here. If we have enough money and if we are wise enough to take our life in the right direction, then we should be good enough to lead a decent life. Not just earning money but we have to also be socially responsible to uplift someone else's life.
In my personal life, I have been in a situation where we were financially struggling. Today we are in a better position even though I have enough debts to clear. But I would confidently say that with the current situation, I'm happy. So having financial stability or financial security gives some level of happiness. We should also know what would be our limit. We should not be overconfident that the situation we are in right now will be the situation forever. But today's happiness is going to be there.
Habit of saving the money we earn
The financial stability is always about the right investment we make. If we are at a very young age, we can probably take some risks but if we are almost in the middle age, then maybe we should be careful with our investments. But whatever the case, savings are important. Today we might be happy with the money we earn but the happiness should last forever and that can happen only if we have enough savings with us.
Money alone directly doesn't bring happiness. With the money we have earned, if we know how to plan our finances and how we should be buying things that can bring happiness to us, then that is the indirect way of getting happiness with money. We should not be just carried away by the money alone. We should also be focusing on our hard work and skills. We have to keep improving our skills.
