Axie Infinity is arguably one of the best games out there and statistically speaking is the best NFT game within the market, proving to be one of the most profitable games. Over recent weeks Axie Infinity has met unprecedented hype, its user activity skyrocketing to have a flow-on effect to its native tokens AXS and Smooth Love Potion (SLP), smashing their previously set ATH (All-Time High). Axie Infinity has grown to a great game but a great lingering question is how did it start? How did Axie Infinity first come about? How did it grow and become more and more popular over time? How did its developers make such great moves leading to this great hype? The answer is a long one, so a series will begin regarding Axie Infinity's history: 'Looking Back At Axie Infinity.' With Axie Infinity awakening out into the world, it begins to expand quickly, with more and more people joining in the one-in-a-lifetime rollercoaster for a ride of excitement and surprise.
Introducing Axie Infinity Land
Towards the beginning of 2019, Axie Infinity released a unique feature expanding its NFT opportunities: land gameplay. The land is set in the land of the fictional realm Lunacia, divided into a 301 by 301 grid square with a variety of land types up for sale. The first land sale will have 1 quarter (25%) of land sold, prices boosting at least 10% higher in the future sales.
The Luna's Landing, which is the bright red square in the centre of Lunacia's map, is owned by Lunacia's High Council that will become an incentive for content creators and be a host for world events, thus building the uniquity of Axie Infinity. Land plots within Lunacia are named Terra that can become purchased, rented out and developed by Axie Infinity players. Landholders can upgrade and customise their land to do a variety of activities for the Axie Infinity community, including hosting shops, producing resources and housing Non-Player Characters (NPCs). All such activities within the land of Lunacia provide a new era of Axie Infinity, a whole new world of NFT gaming out for the Axie community.

Lunacia is such a significant part of Axie Infinity gameplay that it has multiple areas within the Axie Marketplace: Lands and Items. Both of these areas involve high priced assets, the cheapest plot at the time of writing going for 4.3 Ethereum (ETH), a little over $10000. As for the cheapest item, it is for 0.0199 ETH, approximately rounding to $50.

Partnership Galore
Soon after Axie Infinity's announcement of Axie Infinity land, Axie Infinity announces a partnership with CoinGecko, the renowned cryptocurrency market listing website, containing other surprises inside the website as well (e.g. NFTs and crypto news). With the partnership between CoinGecko and Axie Infinity, Axie Infinity promises to help CoinGecko to gain insights into the NFT world, adding a unique land item in respect for CoinGecko. This NFT has accumulated a great price within the Axie Marketplace, the cheapest going for 0.7 ETH.

A few months later on the 22nd of March 2019, Axie Infinity makes another partnership. This time it is with the Japanese game studio Good Luck3 who are the creators of the blockchain game Crypt-Oink. Crypt-Oink involves mysterious cute 3D Pigs called 'Crypton,' based on the ETH blockchain as do most NFT projects do. Trillions of Cryptons exist, each different in appearance, rarity, attributes and skills. Similar to CoinGecko's partnership, Axie Infinity created a land item for Crypt-Oink: Ganbaru CrypTon. The cheapest is more than double the price for CoinGecko's NFT, going for 1.45 ETH.

Another few months and on the 15th of August 2019, Axie Infinity announces another partnership with the popular blockchain project Klaytn. With the partnership, Axie Infinity integrated Klaytn's native token KLAY within their ecosystem, a valid payment method for the Axie Infinity ecosystem world. However, it appears to no longer exist, most likely due to the establishment of the Ronin sidechain.
Flip through another few months and Axie Infinity pops up with another partnership. This partnership is a very big one, going with the international technology company Samsung. Within the partnership, Samsung adds support for Axie Infinity to the Samsung Blockchain Wallet, thus allowing more people to join within the Axie Infinity ecosystem.
Turn to the next year and another popular technology company comes forth for Axie Infinity to set another ring to the chain of partnerships. On the 10th of June 2020, Axie Infinity announces their participation in Ubisoft Entrepreneurs Lab, an interface between Ubisoft, entrepreneurs and external experts to develop entertainment for the world. Within the partnership, the Sky Mavis team who created Axie Infinity will be collaborating with Ubisoft experts to prepare Axie Infinity for a mainstream release, thus making the liquid of Axie Infinity expand forevermore.
