What is GoodDollar? According to the definition that we find is its website, it is a currency and digital wallet that allows anyone in the world to receive FREE basic income with real monetary value directly to their phone.

The purpose is to try to solve one of the biggest problems in today's society, income inequality, and everything that derives from it. According to the creators of this initiative, the solution lies in putting money directly in the hands of people. Thanks to the blockchain and decentralized finance, GoodDollar allows "any living human" regardless of their social position and geographic location, to obtain a small daily income (Universal Basic Income - UBI), without governments or bureaucracy, creating more growth and opportunities for all.

GoodDollar, allows two forms of participation. The first aimed at anyone, needy or not, who wishes to freely claim these basic income, and a second, aimed at financing the initiative, betting crypto assets through the defi ecosystem, so that while they obtain market returns for their own good, also strengthen the GoodDollar network. Ultimately, as they say, it is about "doing good with your crypto."

Behind this initiative, we find a non-profit Foundation, funded by donations and sponsored by private companies. They have a young and multidisciplinary team, eager to change the old banking industry, to replace it with a new financial system, which benefits everyone thanks to blockchain technology, and led by its founder and president, Yoni Assia, creator of eToro in the year 2007.

After some time using the GoodDollar platform, and doubting its viability and sustainability over time, due to the idealistic / utopian nature of the idea, I see signs of possible adoption by users beginning to emerge. Even though G$ still has no real value, it can already be exchanged for professional services, through the GoodDollar Marketplace on Facebook.
