Splinterland's: Battle Mage Secret "Little League".
This week Splinterland's Battle Challenge featured the "Little League" ruleset which means that "Only units and summoners with a mana cost of 4 or less may be used.". This is one of my favorite ruleset as it effectively put a mana cap of 4 per monster that is more suited to my beta cards as you rarely see beta edition cards having 10 and more mana and very high mana battles put them at a disadvantage. I have actually patched my account with CHAOS cards but still, I lack the Untamed and Riftwatcher cards which are also very strong.
Ruleset
I got ruleset of "Super Sneak" which means all melee monsters have sneak ability, "Lost Legendaries" which prohibits the use of Legendary monsters along with earlier discussed "Little League" ruleset.
Actually , rulesets are very important and should be looked carefully and actually based on rulesets your choice of Summoner can be different. For ex. I have used Daria Dragonscale as my Summoner but if ruleset has allowed the Legendary monsters then my choice might be to use Alric Stormbringer with Dr. Blight, which boosts the magic attack of Dr. Blight and I feel Dr. Blight is a very strong card for 4 mana matches.
Little about my team Formation.
As I already mentioned if Ruleset has allowed Legendary cards then my Summoner choice would be Alric Stormbringer. Now paying attention to the ruleset of Super Sneak, My choice of Summoner now rest into Malric Inferno,Tarsa and Daria Dragonscale and since I wanted the monsters like Spineback Turtle and Manticore that have thorns, I went for Daria Dragonscale. Another advantage is that I can use crustacean king that not only heals at my level but also provides +2 armor with its protect.
ability. So final lineup of monsters went like this :
Xenith Monk as tank and have healing ability, Manticore at second position, Naga Windmaster in this position and it has Shatter and "headwinds" ability and it also proved useful in match. Crustacean King at fourth position can do "Tank heal" and "protect" all friendly monsters, Fire Spitter at 5th position and finally Spineback Turtle with "Thorns" to protect the tail.
My Initial thought after seeing the opponent team.
When I saw opponent using "Aquatus" as a summoner which gives "backfire" ability to all its monster, I understood that the first couple of rounds will be crucial If I missed excessively in it, then the game will be over for me.
Let's move to battle.
This is how the team looks with all summoner and monster ability in effect.
Round 1 went good for me as I took down 2 opponent monsters.
And I won this b3.attle at round 3.
And rewards for winning te battle was also nice.
