Unfortunately, I took a break at the start of the year and maybe when I was active I am not looking much at the LBI posts because I am happy to get my dividends on time. My calculation proved that LBI dividends in LEO were great until LBI stopped paying dividends. I guess the dividend was stopped because overall fund value suffered a severe devaluation as LEO kept decreasing in price from $1 to a couple of cents. Also, LEO curation yield kept dropping and once it used to be around 30% but now it is around somewhere 6% to 7% (Did read in Achim/ctpsb post but I am not going to search that post).
So now LBI is a fund that is not paying dividends and going through the post of @lbi-token, it is now planning to buy back the tokens by putting the order in the market. (Hive-Engine) as per the latest post.
The price of LEO has levelled up from the past 8 weeks of growth. Last week I said I would buy back some LBI tokens from hive-engine which I did and we now have a 1000 LBI balance. Im thinking that alot of people will what to cash out thier LBI so it would time to power down some LEO and convert some non-HIVE holdings into LEO to buy back more tokens from holders.
I feel this need to be discussed in detail as the earlier LBI post itself mentioned in the previous week post
I was supposed to get a post out about getting feedback on a possible LBI token buyback. I will get it out by Wednesday this week and provide some buybacks through hive-engine using our liquid LEO balance. I will set the buyback amount to 95% of the current token price which would be 1.80 LEO and then whatever that is in HIVE.
Ideally, this should be discussed and should have been a proposal by @lbi-gov but look like the governance body is also defunct as it was last elected in Jan-2022 but I will still like to tag @bozz and @alexvan as the last elected/nominated members.
I m not sure why restarting the dividend is even in consideration or not.
I will urge the @lbi-gov to create the proposal to at least take feedback though I am sure not many of the LBI holders are actively pursuing this as I do not see any activity by stakeholders on the official post.
