How to buy NFT's without crypto

By Art | Art | 7 Jul 2019

I’ve seen so many guides out there on how to buy #cryptoart but none of them give you an easy on-boarding process. For art buyers who aren’t interested in crypto the mention of “well step one is buying eth” is going to put a lot of people off. The crypto art industry is pretty crowded, we’ve even got apps like Instagram that have launched I certainly wouldn’t class these as art but hey each to their own. But for the web-based platform’s on-boarding hasn’t improved much if at all, I think some of this comes down to people wanting their platform to do everything and seldom mention the 3rd party options and integrations that have launched. In this article, I hope to show that there is a way without having to buy any crypto that you can own your first piece of crypto art.

Impossible you say? No, things have changed a lot in a year and if you want you can be part of this without having to buy into crypto.

Step one: get Metamask

Metamask is an extension for a browser and it pretty easy to use, be sure to write down your recovery phrase. We have a great video about all the things you need to get started with Metamask on our YouTube channel here https://youtu.be/AqNULIvIlJ8 Head here to download this extension https://metamask.io/

Step two: find the art you want on opensea

Opensea is a 3rd party exchange site for all NFT’s and crypto art, if it’s not on there its not really worth buying. This is because if a project isn’t on Opensea it is more than lightly their contract isn’t compatible which is a must for this space. One of the reasons for crypto art is the fact that you own it and can sell it however and wherever you want, without that factor it is just the same as digital art platforms that are centralised. Check out open sea to see all the projects in the space where you can truly find any art you want, But ours is the best https://opensea.io/assets/blockchainartexchange-v2.

Step three: pay via Nifty gateway

at this point you might be thinking “wait don’t I need to buy crypto to own some of this incredible art?” well, times have changed and now all you need is a metamask and a credit card, black magic you say? Not at all just head to https://niftygateway.com/#/opensea and copy the URL of whatever it is you want to buy, fill in your details and boom the collectible is now in your wallet. No need to learn how to use an exchange no need to give your id simple and easy the way it should be. Nifty gateway works by paying the owner of the collectible in ETH and you pay in any money you want, It is truly an ingenious solution. They also plan to launch their own version of a metamask type wallet, which is sure to change the game.

Buying Crypto

before i go into the standard routes you can just buy small amounts directly from opensea, Something to think about if you don’t want to go though exchange sign up . If you are reading this and thinking that you would prefer to go out and get some of that sweet cryptocurrency first. Then the solution is simple to check out our video on how to buy crypto in all different ways. I like bitstamp personally but it is up to you how you go about it. Another great option I don’t mention in the video is Wirex https://wirexapp.com/ . With them, you also get the option of getting a very useful card. You don’t have to use coinbase you could just go to an ATM and many other options depending on your location. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBrchOdcx7k&feature=youtu.be So what are you waiting for find your art on https://opensea.io/assets/blockchainartexchange-v2 copy the URL to https://niftygateway.com/#/opensea and sit back and enjoy your new part of the future....
