Blog published for the first time through Ecency.
Hello friends of HIVE, I hope you are having a nice day. The year 2024 is about to end and it is normal to take stock of what we have done and achieved over these 12 months.
Today I return to the #dailydoodles that I started this year to illustrate what I expect from the next. Daily Doodles was a section on my Hive blog where I combined a more childlike art with various reflections. At the end of this entry, I will make a compilation of the Daily Doodles of the year, as a memory.
2024 was not a very good year; it seemed to go from one problem to another, but I always tried to stay positive and see the bright side of things. Today I just want to focus on the positive, so let's do a little recount.
This year at work, I graduated three groups of ninth graders. They were very difficult groups, but we managed to achieve very good results. I also started with a new group of much younger children, which has been a pleasant and challenging experience. Another thing this year was that, despite my limited time, I managed to play new and old video games, which brought me much joy. I especially enjoyed playing Final Fantasy VII Remake, which I had pending for too long, and I am replaying Final Fantasy V, one of my favorites but very difficult and extensive.
I dedicated myself throughout the year to maintaining my streak on Duolingo, accumulating more than 500 days, and I consider that my English has improved. Additionally, I started paying more attention to French. My new degree is going smoothly; I presented an excellent course work, where I got 5 points, the maximum score for the subject. The work was focused on the acquisition of reading habits in adolescents, a topic that I was very passionate about and found very useful, especially the analysis of the use of Wattpad and how it influences the teenagers who consume it. I practically got 5 in all subjects except for a Philosophy presentation where my grade was 4 because the jury did not agree with my point of view, but I am confident that this year I will do better in that subject.
Regarding my passion for art, I managed to dedicate more time and even earned some modest income with some illustrations. It was the first time I sold my art and it felt very good. Additionally, it allowed me to invest in more art materials. I finished a sketchbook that I had been stuck with for 2 years and started a mini sketchbook that I made myself. I think I have improved a lot in drawing, but I am still at the beginning of the road. I also participated in initiatives like Splinterland, Holozing's Zingtober, and
Hive account@lmac 's challenging entries, experiences within Hive that I hold dear.
Writing was undoubtedly present all year. I committed to maintaining this Hive account, always trying to prioritize the quality of the content while also sharing things about my life, experiences, tastes, and hobbies. This is my first year on Hive, and without a doubt, I feel in the constructive process of creating deep connections with users and communities.
There are many things I want to do for 2025, a long list. I want to publish a booklet dedicated to chemical experiments in geography classes, related to my work as a teacher. I want to improve my English and find a way to certify it. According to some level tests, I get B2, and I would like it to be confirmed by a professional institution. For my degree, by the end of 2025, I will be halfway through, so there is still some way to go, but I want to keep my grades up.
My biggest plans are related to art and how I approach it. I need to dedicate much more time and focus on specific goals to improve faster and see results. I want to learn a bit more about web programming and, if there is time, start with Blender, although these last two goals are more long-term and less realistic. And of course, I will continue writing on Hive, which helps me enormously with catharsis and to release the stress of the daily routine.
I would love to hear about your plans for this year, what you will do, what you would like to do, what your new challenges are, and how 2024 was for you. A big greeting, hug, and my best wishes for success and happiness. Goodbye.
