I’m not a fan of people waving at me. Especially strangers.

Too much confusion.
Too much for me to handle, at least.

Around my neighborhood, people wave constantly. And I just keep asking myself
“Who’s this asshole and why are they waving at me?”
It’s almost like a competition for these people, because every time I pass someone who waves, the person behind them waves twice as vigorously.
I nod.
Please don’t push your luck. I refuse to put myself out there like that.
Because nothing is worse than finding out they are waving to the person behind you.
A part of you dies inside. And usually the person who gave the initial wave ignores it because the 2nd hand embarrassment is too much to handle.
Or they just give a look that says “Who’s this asshole and why are they waving at me?”
