Social media and financial tools are colliding in unprecedented ways creating such a perfect mix with the advent of blockchains, tokens, and Web3 technologies. One of the emerging projects (apart from HIVE, Publish0x, Paragraph-xyz) is Arena.social, a platform redefining how users engage, earn, and connect. Leaded by CEO Jason Desimone, Arena.social is a social-financial platform built on the Avalanche blockchain.
Jason Desimone’s journey includes the launch of an app, Roove, a platform for NFT-based ticketing and loyalty rewards. When the opportunity arose to acquire Stars Arena, a viral Avalanche-based SocialFi app, he made the call.
After significant challenges—including rebuilding a team and rebranding amidst technical vulnerabilities—Arena.social was born. Ten months later, Arena stands as a landmark in the world of blckchain based social networks, boasting a loyal community and innovative features.
In terms of User experience, you can imagine it as a sort of X (formerly known as Twitter), with many Ui elements that reminds of it, powered by Avalanche blockcahin, where users can monetize their content, sell tickets ( a sort of subscription) and tip other users. But What Makes Arena.social Unique?
-
Enhancing Social Experiences:
Arena merges social interactions with financial tools. Users can create content, connect with others, and earn directly through platform features like tipping, ticket sales, and private access—all powered by crypto. -
Community Ownership and Rewards:
Unlike traditional social platforms where operators control data and profits, Arena enables users to monetize their participation directly. A lot of social network are now working to integrate crypto in their already made business models, while Arena.social has been programmed from scratch and build around blockchains. -
Seamless User Onboarding:
Arena.social eliminates the complexities of traditional crypto social network, where wallets, keys and transactions are necessary. New users can sign in with platforms like Twitter (and soon Instagram or TikTok), while wallets are automatically created for them. A partnership with Stripe even allows purchases via credit card, making it accessible to crypto novices. -
Backed by Avalanche:
Arena’s choice of Avalanche is strategic, thanks to a strong community and direct support for developers. This foundation ensures a good boost to the project.
Key features of Arena.social,
-
Tickets as Social Tokens:
Every user has a “ticket” that represents their value within the network. When others buy your ticket, its price rises, granting them access to private chats with you. This innovative model allows creators to earn while fostering intimate interactions with their audience. -
Low fees:
Arena.social operates with some of the industry’s lowest platform fees, ensuring that creators retain most of their earnings earned from subscriptions, tipped content and other forms of support from users-
The Vision: A fully integrated SocialFi Ecosystem
The future that Jason envisions for SocialFi apps like Arena is an all-encompassing hubs for both social and financial activities. By being crypto-native from the very beginning, Arena can offer unique monetization opportunities that traditional platforms cannot replicate.
“Apps like X (formerly Twitter) face challenges in reverse-engineering crypto integration,” Jason explains. “But Arena was designed with Web3 principles at its core, allowing us to innovate faster and deeper.”
Based on this interview, here’s some features that have recently been introduced (or will be in the next future) in the app environment:
-
Arena Token:
Already in use, the token was distributed in a first airdrop (others will come). Users can now stake Arena token to vote and tip users. -
Arena Stages:
This feature has introduced live audio spaces akin to Twitter Spaces but with monetization capabilities, enabling creators to earn from hosting discussions. -
Fractional Tickets:
To makeexpensive tickets more accessible, Arena will introduce fractional ownership ( so basically you can own a small portion of a ticket, with probably less authorities). While full tickets grant private chat access, fractional tickets allow broader participation and trading opportunities. -
Mobile App Expansion:
Soon, Arena will move beyond its web app, launching on iOS and Android to reach an even larger audience.
