Binance will donate 60k $ to help rebuild Notre-Dame de Paris

When you have one million dollars, you’re a lucky person. When you have 10 million dollars, you’ve got trouble, a lot of headaches. When you have more than one billion dollars, or a hundred million dollars, that’s a responsibility you have – it’s the trust of people on you, because people believe you can spend money better than the others.

I always found this quote quite inspiring, despite not knowing very much from Jack Ma and his actions. The reason for this is that it underlines that having a lot of money is also a responsibility: it means you have the power to choose how to spend and affect people's life around you.

In the last years I've seen a lot of people and companies making huge money with cryptos: despite that I did not see an equivalent amount of charity actions from them. What I see often is people talking about how to make money with crypto, trying to profit from speculation, not how to spend them for a fairy cause.

That's the reason why i looked with surprise at the news that Binance, which has a Charity section I knew nothing about, in going to donate 3 BTC (approx 60,000k $) to contribute to the restoration of Notre-Dame Cathedral’s Mays paintings, which were damaged in a disastrous fire in April 2019.

In the days and months following the fire cryptocurrency donations were raised from the Binance community. Binance Charity launched a crypto-fundraising channel that attracted donations from all kind of users, both private and companies.
