Anons first Crypto. Post #9
I've been investigating cryptocurrency and the decentralized web since the start of May 2020. This blog is an avenue of documentation and expression of my experience.
/biz/coin
What is /biz/coin?
A community token, for anons, by anons. This may sound like a marketing slogan but that's it at the core and it has a great story of a bloodless crypto coup to boot. The inception of the coin seems to of started from somebody trying to scam anons on 4chan, however the community seems to of embraced the idea of having their own token, removed the development team behind the scam and and rallied behind the new team developing it. It was an actual crypto coup, I was lucky enough to be in the discord and watch it all unfold. The team has worked to reward those who supported the wholesome intent of the token by airdropping anybody who purchased the first iteration of /biz/coin before the first development team exit scammed with the liquidity. Since they have built a functioning website, integrated with Uniswap V2 (previously incompatible with the tokenomics), revamped their staking formula, pushed the staking portal live and currently have a business and finance chan style image board in development with inbuilt token functionality for the community at large to enjoy and utilize.
Why stick with it?
At the time of creation there were countless PnD scams being shilled on /biz/ and r/cryptomoonshots, with hundreds of new uniscam tokens being listed daily alt season 2020 for you... Anyway anons who bought early for the sake of being apart of their own community token were obviously distraught at the thought of being scammed, some were furious others just disappointed over what could of been. Luckily for those interested in the project, a few Devs who truly believed in the project removed the scammers access to the back end side of things, removed them from the communication channels and informed as many people as possible that the project wasn't dead in the water. The team that stayed behind moved the funds into a multi signature development wallet to avoid anything of the sort happening again. The community rallied quite quickly, almost recovering the losses within 12-14 hours, within a few days more people with skills to offer the broader project appeared as well as devs from established projects that for some reason or another wanted to offer their technical skills to help build /biz/coin. It was really awesome to witness.
Who made it?
A group of anons from /biz/, the business and finance section of 4chan.org. I'm not going to bother mentioning the handles of the original scammers, it doesn't help the future of the project, especially since they're now distant memories for most of the remaining team. Being that the token is meant to be utilized and representative of /biz/nessmen from 4chan, an anonymous online image board having a section where we introduce or advertise our team wasn't in line with the values associated with its heritage. The team hopes that their continued support, involvement and development of the project helps showcase the legitimacy and longevity of the project in the eyes of the community. Organic community support and engagement is the overall goal for the token in the eyes of the team. The development and admin teams will never shy away from getting to know their community so don't hesitate to drop by the discord, a telegram is on its way as well but for the moment, drop by and say hello to the team! You might be surprised to see who's working on it.
I think I'll leave it there at the moment, waiting on word from the team as to if they have a press pack available however I believe I'll continue to follow /biz/coin quite closely.
