Many people are drawn to work on their spiritual selves right now, and in increasing numbers. One of the things that many of us find as we advance on our spiritual path, is that you can start to feel very drawn to higher vibrational, natural foods like fruits and vegetables, in particular organic options, and less attracted to animal products or processed foods.
There is a reason for this, and it is simply that as you are becoming more tuned into your higher self you become aware on many different levels that certain foods or chemical processes are quite harmful to the holistic or whole human being.
Many people are experiencing what I refer to as "ascension symptoms" right now, as I explained in Episode 8 of the Spiritual Support Crew Podcast: Ascension Symptoms, and choosing higher vibrations foods play a part in helping you to achieve a higher spiritual vibration on your journey to enlightenment and awakening.
I want to talk specifically about organic foods today, and in particular organic fruits & vegetables because that's what I have the most experience of. I've personally been vegan for 9.5 years now, so eating organic animal products isn't really on my radar these days.
The world of organic food can seem quite overwhelming, and apart from being more difficult to find, it can be pretty expensive depending on what you buy.
If you're not sure where to start but feel you'd like to start incorporating some organic options into your life for your body and your energetic health too, then I have good news. There is a list called the Clean Fifteen & The Dirty Dozen published by the Environmental Working Group that provides some guidance as to which foods are best eaten organic, and which foods you can get away with.
The Dirty Dozen is a list of the foods most likely to contain harmful pesticide residues that do the most harm to human health, and probably the environment too. These foods are may also lower your vibration. EWG currently lists the following foods as the ones they recommend you should always buy organic:
This information might come as a bit of a shock to people who live in countries like mine, where potatoes in particular are a staple of our diets, and no dinner or trip to the pub is seemingly complete without a side of chips, roast potatoes or mash! Most of us don't eat organic potatoes, but that's one of the first swaps I'd suggest you make on your organic journey.
The second list provides the most likely to be "clean" i.e. to have the least pesticides used in their cultivation, and the least residues that could harm us. The EWG currently list the Clean Fifteen as follows:
2. Sweet Corn
6. Frozen sweet peas
14. Honeydew melon
You can get away with not buying these organic, as they are considered the safest non-organic foods.

Most of the large UK supermarkets now offer organic produce, so most of the dirty dozen should be reasonably easy to find. If you're struggling, you could look at getting an organic Veg Box delivery from a company like Abel & Cole, Riverford or a local farm or producer in your local area.
Abel & Cole are my personal favourites, because they also keep a large stock of store cupboard produce, bread, cakes and cleaning products for the home within their 100% organic range, and they have a decent choice of vegan options too and even stock high quality organic pet foods so your fur babies don't have to miss out. And no, they sadly aren't paying me to say that, I'm just an enthusiastic customer!
