It has been a good year for HYPE HODLers despite being deep in the Crypto Winter. And 2026 has not finished yet and we still have the final quarter to go. How many more ATHs can there be in 2026? 🚀🚀🚀
The Tea Leaves: If the Freo Dockers final quarter against Geelong on Friday is anything to go by, 2026 final quarter should be a humdinger. Not an AFL follower, think it is a silly game. But hard not to feel the excitement building.

The catalyst
Hyperliquid protocol rolled out manual borrowing. Users can now supply HYPE and Bitcoin as collateral to borrow the stablecoins USDC and Tether’s USDt (USDT). The manual borrowing feature and its portfolio-margin system use the same underlying HyperCore infrastructure.
Co-founder Jeff Yan said:
“the design means every borrowed asset comes from a supplier rather than being created through platform-level margin accounting.“
Disclosure: All that is way above my pay grade. Not too ashamed to admit I am here for the money, not the DeFI or the tech. The irony is not lost that all our bets in 2026 were Defi protocols. Even SKY has finally woken up, doing a 24% in a day.
Finally some Clarity
After the market and commentors having high expectations for the Clarity Act, it was too be expected there would be some disappointment from market participants.
But the stalling of the Clarity Act has cleared the way for the SEC and CFTC get on with it, unencumbered by the politics shenanigans.
The large capital allocators will still be on the side lines waiting for their statute and that will come in due course.
But the longer that all takes the harder for it all to be undone. Particularly the earning interest on stables, don’t really care what they do to the memecoins.
DISCLAIMER: I promise no AI or politician was harmed in the researching, editing and publishing of this (as much as I might have wanted to). But lots of CO2 was produced, doing my bit to make planet earth green.
