This article I want to start a little from afar.
In quantum physics there is such a thing as "Schrödinger's cat". This is a hypothetical experiment by Nobel laureate Erwin Schrödinger. This experiment clearly explains to us what a quantum superposition is. So, the cat is in a box with a radioactive substance and poison gas. The conditions of the experiment are chosen so that the 50% probability of the decay of the nucleus is an hour. An hour later, the cat dies if the radioactive core decays and the poison gas container opens. And if after an hour the core does not disintegrate, the container with poison gas does not open and the cat remains alive. We close the cat in a box, wait one hour and ask ourselves or any person present nearby: “is the cat alive, or maybe he is already dead”? So, quantum physics will answer this question like this: the cat is both alive and dead at the same time. This is called superposition. That a cat can be in both of these states at the same time. And if we open the box, what do we get? That with a 50% chance the cat is alive, with a 50% chance the cat is dead.
Why am I all this? And to the fact that in the modern world, with the advent of the Internet and social networks, such a concept as “post-truth” has appeared. And this concept includes both truth and falsehood at the same time. Under certain conditions, the information that we consume can be true, or vice versa - false. And if we remember that we live in a world where the news feed, the events generated by the Internet and social networks adjust to our political views, our desires and personal preferences, then we will live in a world where we will see only one point of view . The one that is closer to us in spirit and our principles. We will choose one side and completely forget about the other. After all, every medal has two sides. Quantum superposition in action.
What are social networks? And this is a tool that allows us to communicate and socialize, that is, to communicate and talk with people living anywhere in the world. We want to know everything, control incoming information and share everything that is available to us today. But today's social networks, such as they are, do not expand our consciousness, do not help to find truth and independence in our judgments and evaluation of objective information. And every day they manipulate us more and more. They bring us the information that will correspond to those who control us, whether it be an individual, Internet giants or the state.
What can help us? And here's the thing: decentralization. In our understanding, this means freedom from the Internet giants, social media monopolists, the state, or anyone who can influence the blocking of our social media page and content censorship. And then we have a chance to be heard, to see and have information that not only meets our needs, but the opposite point of view. Reduce the number of manipulations exerted on us. All this is necessary so that we can see the big picture, develop our critical thinking, grow and develop in different areas of our lives.
