St. Valentine's Eulogy
Today was one with love
and death
Today was one
of despair
for ecstasy
of the mundane
without humour
but love.
When last I saw Him
There was a twinkle in the eye
When last I saw You
There was a smile
For at last we met.
Life is a hundred-metre runner
and at some moments there are no words.
We can no longer share
a meal together
I can never
pay you back.
Though our eyes meet
over candles
each of us passes
like a flicker
in the flame.
