Brave is a free and open source web browser developed by Brave Software Inc. based on the Chromium engine. The browser blocks ads and programs that track the sites you visit.
Brave Browser was developed at Brave Software, founded on May 28, 2015 by CEO Brendan Eich and Chief Technology Officer Brian Bondy. On January 20, 2016, Brave Software launched the first version of the Brave Browser with an ad-blocking feature and announced plans for the Ad Privacy Features and Brave Rewards revenue sharing program.
In June 2018, Brave launched a test version of the browser with benefits for viewing ads. This version of Brave is preloaded with approximately 250 ads and sends a detailed log of the user's browsing activity to Brave for short-term testing of the feature. Brave has announced that there will be wider trials taking place. Later that month, Brave added support for the Tor Browser in Private Desktop Browsing. In December of the same year, Brave called for a boycott of Google's advertising practices.
On April 25, the company added the Brave Ads feature to the launched version of the web browser. The team is also working with Vice, Home Chef, Ternio BlockCard, MyCrypto, and eToro, as well as BuySellAds, TAP Network, AirSwap, Fluidity, and Uphold to pay users to display ads in cryptocurrencies.
Brave Browser will be the default browser of HTC's new cryptocurrency-oriented Exodus 1.
Basic Attention Token
Basic Attention Token is a new token for the digital advertising industry. It pays publishers for the content they publish and users for their attention, and advertisers get more benefits in return for the ads.
Basic Attention Token dramatically improves digital advertising performance by creating a new token that publishers, advertisers and users can exchange with each other. All of this happens in the Ethereum blockchain.
The token can be used to obtain a variety of advertising and BAT-based services. The utility of a token is based on the user's attention, which simply means a person's concentrated mental engagement.
How does the Brave Rewards app work❓
