Hello, Publish0x Community!
We are happy to be here and to be sharing with you all the progress the æternity blockchain community is achieving on a daily basis.
We will use the æternity blog here to spread the word about new applications built on top of AE, to publish development updates and, in general, to share news coming from the æcosystem.

Let us start with a short introduction for those of you who just heard about æternity for the first time.
æternity is a next-generation public and open-source blockchain platform built to allow for highly scalable decentralized applications. The project was founded in early 2017 by Yanislav Malahov. Watch his Genesis DevCon talk on building a decentralized future:
æternity's main core components are written in the functional language Erlang by programming pioneers such as Robert Virding (co-creator of Erlang), John Hughes (co-designer of Haskell), Ulf Norell (the brains behind the Agda programming language for formal verification) and Erik Stenman (project manager of Scala & ex-CTO of Klarna).
Erlang is actually the language powering 90% of the world wide web we use today. Watch Ulf Wiger, another industry expert and long-term æternity developer, explaining the specifics of building a blockchain in Erlang:
Main AE Features
The æternity protocol incorporates a number of essential technological features at Layer-1 including advanced state channels, oracles, and a naming system. While other blockchains achieve scalability and real-world data communication via smart contracts, æternity integrates these solutions in the protocol and thus reaches higher levels of speed and efficiency.
Moreover, æternity has developed its own functional, Ocaml-like, smart contract language called Sophia. It is a robust language that can specify and automatically prove the properties of smart contracts, making it ideal for high-value, system-critical smart contracts.

You're feeling overwhelmed yet? We'll save some for our future posts. Follow the forthcoming publications here to discover the rest of æternity's unique features.
In the meantime, check out æternity's website and this rich collection of resources we've gathered to help you get better acquainted with æternity.
We are looking forward to hearing from you and to meeting new friends here!
