Some apps worth trying seriously going into 2026, especially if you want to build an audience first and then think about income later.
I am starting with social and audience building platforms. Ecency and Bulb are both web3 based writing platforms where people can tip content they like. Ecency is part of the Hive network and has been around for a long time, so it feels more established and community driven. Bulb is much newer but it has a modern aesthetic and feels lighter to use. Both reward consistency more than virality and that makes them interesting for writers who actually want readers instead of empty impressions.
Another audience building platform I am testing is Threads. You can post about yourself, what you are working on, or just short thoughts. I joined it mainly to try it out and surprisingly it seems to have more engagement for writing compared to Twitter. My normal sentence style posts easily get around 500 views and some comments even with only 5 followers. There is no tipping or monetization built in yet, but for raw exposure it feels underrated.
For earning crypto as a side or passive income, Rewardy dot io is worth mentioning. It is basically an offerwall style platform with surveys and tasks, but it also has small passive options like earning by listening to music or watching streams. It is simple, straightforward, and does not have much progression. You earn, you cash out, and that is mostly it.
Platforms with deeper progression are RollerCoin and MiningBlocks. RollerCoin requires a lot of time and attention to reach a meaningful passive income. The progression system is very addictive and clearly designed to hook you in. People with addictive personalities should honestly stay away, because it rewards constant interaction more than patience.
MiningBlocks feels like the best option for me out of all of them. It is friendly for starting players because any materials or products you accumulate early on can be sold for crypto, even the in game currency. You can also advertise using the in game currency, which adds another layer. The downside is complexity. You constantly have to decide whether to cash out, reinvest, or find a middle ground. That decision making is what makes it interesting but also mentally heavy.
Something similar to MiningBlocks but less complex is Autofaucet by Dutchy Corp. It is a faucet by nature but with much more progression than a normal faucet. The in game currency has many utilities like advertising, boosts, and even posting tasks similar to timewall systems. It is slower but more controlled and less overwhelming.
Overall, these platforms sit at an interesting intersection of writing, attention, progression, and crypto. None of them are perfect, but each teaches you something about how online economies actually work.
