I hear intelligent people put things off... that's a good excuse.
I've always been inclined to postpone some things. If I have time, I will do it later. I thought everyone did that, that's how it all worked. Only recently, when I started to be interested in sociology, economics and social sciences in general, did I notice how much it was in me. Does this mean that I was lazy? No. I had manifestations of prokrastination.

People who hear such opinions often do not admit it. The most common reason is the alleged "lack of time" for this (when we postpone a given activity because we have more than enough time) task. Why? I think it's all because people don't like to say that they have some flaws. They don't want to share them, let alone admit them openly.
And looking at it, it's nothing strange/scary. We are afraid of judging others, we are afraid of making a mistake, we feel imperfect in what we do, we do not know what will happen next. And I could mention it this way endlessly.

It was the same with me.

Since the time of primary school (because I can remember the furthest away from it), I was afraid to raise my hand to fear of a bad answer to the question. I didn't want my friends to laugh at me if I had to smoke any stupidity. I didn't want to be judged in any way. It was a mistake.

How did I deal with it?

First and foremost. You have to stand in front of the mirror and just admit it. It's easy to say, easy to do, harder to come to terms with. When I realized this deeply, I was ashamed that there was such a mechanism in me. Then I looked at it and thought, it doesn't make any sense. How can you manage your resources and time so badly? Believe me, when we get into such a vortex, we don't control it and it seems normal to us.

 

My advice

For people who feel that they have a similar mechanism in themselves, or for those who want to change something in their lives - my advice that works. Really - tested on their own skin :)

First of all, think about your goals in life.
Think about what you wanted to be when you were little, what you liked to play with your friends? Or maybe you have a hobby? Often such reflections encourage people to take steps in their own area. Why? Because we finally notice what stage of life we are at, what mistakes we have made and what and how we want to improve. Positive energy injection guaranteed.

Motivation.
Look for it - it will not come to you by itself.
It is the basis for every action. Promise something. Not to me, her, him, mom, dad. To yourself. Promise yourself a reward. It could be anything. Everything depends on your individual preferences. Try and you will see.

In small steps - calmly.
Rome wasn't built right away - a well-known saying, was it? Remember it, you will need it the most when you are in doubt. If you feel a minimum of doubt at work, don't give up. Because you will never come back to her again.

And last but not least, be yourself.
