Reducing the dominance of the U.S. dollar?

Reducing the dominance of the U.S. dollar?

Hold on to your chairs, people! Almost all countries around the world invest in gold as if gold is not yet going out of fashion. But why? Maybe they think, or rather they are already worried, that the U.S. dollar has shaken a bit lately. Slightly, or maybe already quite strongly?

Maybe a lot of people already know that countries like China, Germany and Turkey are leading the way in accumulating gold. Obviously, these countries consider gold to be a much safer investment than just owning U.S. dollars, especially with all this inflation that is currently happening in the United States. In addition, due to the gigantic pile of US debt, they do not feel very confident in investing in the U.S. dollar. Sometimes my friends and I wonder to whom the United States owes this debt they have?

Have you ever heard of the BRICS countries? You probably are, but who isn't. These countries want to rely much less on the U.S. dollar? This movement "ditch the dollar" seems to be gaining popularity.

Last year, central banks bought record amounts of gold, and Russia and China are especially gung-ho, or rather, incredibly excited about storing gold bars. Russia now even has a fashionable name for this golden obsession of its own - "fiscal fortress". Basically, this is how they build a kind of figurative "golden wall" in order to protect their economy.

All this buying gold and less U.S. dollars in the economy probably means changing the way the world will handle money. Countries are expanding their gold reserves, and are increasingly moving away from the U.S. dollar and heading towards this dazzling wealth that sounds like gold.

So, what can we conclude? The global financial system could shake a lot in the near future or very soon, and gold seems to be the new shopping fever. Who knows? I'm not an economist, I don't have a degree in economics, I'm just a musician who likes to compose music. :-)
