*Heb. 3:6"But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we HOLD FAST THE CONFIDENCE and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.* "

*(Heb 4:14 )"Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, LET US HOLD FAST OUR PROFESSION."**

*Heb.10:23"LET US HOLD FAST THE PROFESSION of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)"*

Observe the emphasis of the Spirit on the phrase:"HOLD FAST THE PROFESSION " and "HOLD FAST THE CONFIDENCE",in all the above scriptures.
If you were to travel on a horse in a certain location and you were told to "hold fast",that should tell you that the way is rough enough to throw you off the horse,if you don't hold fast.
