Good morning.
I thought it was about time to do an update on our WeatherXM weather station and how it is going.
There are currently 2597 WeatherXM devices online.

I placed my order for the WeatherXM back in the spring of 2022 and our device was installed on the roof on 30th September 2022. We started receiving rewards on 2nd October. (as it is still on testnet these are not what we will actually get.)
So far the only information we have for when we will go onto mainet is 2023 Q3. They have said there will be an airdrop of tokens to the beta testers but WeatherXM have not yet said how they will work out what you will receive in the airdrop but it should be based somehow on when you started producing the weather data.
There is also no information on what you will receive on a daily basis for the data you produce when WeatherXM goes live to mainet or if there are companies lined up to even pay for the data.
We do have a rewards distribution now-:
Community 55%
Company and investors 30%
Ecosystem and development 10%
Liquidity bootstrap 5%
In my opinion we are either really early in this project or I don't have to look out of the window to see what the weather is like. Honestly I am not sure. I knew when I ordered the device it had no tokenomics or proper whitepaper which are two things I would normally need to see but it did look like it had a use case which made me decide it was worth a go.
When we ordered our weather station it was hard not to compare the project with Helium, it was even called 'The people's weather network' but then Helium and WeatherXM joined forces for better precision and more opportunities. WeatherXM has now made Helium compatible devices, the rewards distribution is much the same as is the concept of selling similarly priced devices with rewards in crypto.

On the plus side it could take off and we will have a load of valuable tokens or well you know we could have loads of worthless tokens but we have a plan, so again it is a case of wait and see.
