Good morning.

I thought I should do an end of year Helium update (yes I know im a bit late).
So what has happened since my last update helium-is-moving-to-solana. Well Solana has had some difficulties since the FTX collapse but hopefully it can come back. I had looked at getting some SOL but did not, but perhaps now is the time, i'm still on the fence on that one. As Helium is linked with Solana I would like to say that caused the downward trend for the price of HNT but it was already sliding. Nothing has really happened with the move yet other than we have migrated to our new wallets.

For us personally we are just collecting the HNT and have it staked for a little interest. We are still earning 70 - 80 HNT per month at the moment. I did stop doing my HNT spreadsheets but might have to pull them up and update them a little. (To be fair it did get a little bit disheartening!) After my sell off of HNTtears-tantrums-and-sleepless-nights we have actully managed to earn over 300 HNT again. Looking back on that post now it was a really emotional time ( I know but it is hard not to be emotional ) and it seems like we have the same number of tokens now as we had then, so all that worry and regret at selling then seems insignificant now. I could also look back and see it as a great deal as the HNT price now is half of what it was then.
There have been 982,057 IOT miners onboarded to the network but just under 51% of those are currently online, I guess some have turned them off or not replaced them as they have broken down, we did have to re flash one miners SD card but that was an easy fix and inexpensive to do. As for people who were paying host's I am sure a lot of them have stopped doing so unless they are paying host's a percentage instead of a set amount. I have even read of people who brought up to 100 miners and did not deploy them, as by the time they got them it was really too late.
I do believe there is a use case for the Helium network so I am hopeful that it will pick up eventually and news like this has got to be good. Although there has been a lot of trust lost in the Helium network we can only hope they have learnt their lesson.
Mimiq, Inc is announcing today the launch of their new product, Mimiq Track, at CES as part of their latest product line to operate on the Helium Network, the world’s fastest-growing wireless network.
As always, thank you for reading and feel free to comment.
