A taste of Japan

A taste of Japan

Good morning/evening.

As you may be aware Japan, is somewhere that I would like to visit one day (hopefully in the not too distant future). I would like to visit cities and rural areas and if I am lucky enough to go it would be great if the trip could be arranged when the cherry blossom is in full bloom. The bullet train looks amazing and would also be a must. Mount Fuji would be on my list of places to visit as would some of the castles and temples. I want to feel the culture and enjoy the food. My husband is getting into the spirit of Japan by buying a Japanese whisky, which he has told me is fantastic.

This would not quite be a romantic break for me and my husband as our teenage son is also very keen to go to Japan. He would like to see some of the robotics of Japan and of course the anime as he has loved these shows for years.

So where am I going with this post? Well what do you get a teenager for Christmas when all that he tells you that he wants is Bitcoin? Well we found something Japanese from Bokksu. To be honest we had quite low expectations that this box would arrive with a few crumpled snacks, if it would even get through Customs and arrive at all!

Well what a pleasant surprise it was, firstly it arrived at our local post office which is amazing in itself as our postal system here is not the best. The box was strong and sturdy and intact and was full of many Japanese snacks (a lot more than I expected) There was a postcard, a booklet that explained where in Japan these snacks came from and an English translation of what they were. There were so many that my son took some to a party to share with his friends.

The box is not as full as it was, but everything we have tried so far has been really nice.

These are the locations that the snacks came from with the legend.

Then there was a detailed description for each snack.

The descriptions are detailed and informative and on the whole I have been very impressed with the quality and quantity of the Bokksu goodies as is our son who is enjoying the Japanese treats. This is definitely something I would order again as it was impressive and a great treat.

Has anyone been to Japan or lives there? I would love some tips on places to go and things to see. Hopefully in a year or 2 we might get there!

As always, thank you for reading and please feel free to comment.
