The Psychological Use Case for Statera Which Could Transform the Future of Defi and Global Economics

10 Aug 2020 9 minute read 3 comments mekhiMKL

Many use cases for Statera might involve brilliant technical analyses. As much as I appreciate the amount of energy, expertise, research (and most importantly) data analysis that creates a technical use case, I'd argue that the defi community, and ec...

Polite? Why would I bother when you are far from polite with how you engage with others? The whole "I'm going to go make unsubstantiated claims on someone else's post to make myself look like a pro" is a bad look, and I honestly have no tolerance for behavior like that. Name one "scam" or "ponzi" scheme I've defended? What I act like is someone tired of people acting superior and attacking people for no reason. Because that's what I am. And all that is to understand about you is that you are just here to inflate yourself. There's plenty of defi projects out there you know nothing about, and you are not a barometer for success, because successful people don't act the way you do.

Yeah, it's wild how much I put into gas. God willing my few gas guzzling moves pay off. I'm waiting on a paypal payment so I can throw more money at something... not sure what yet, might try to get more exposure to something new, or double down on a big earner. I guess I will see where things are at when I get that little bit of money. I belatedly saw that dip too. Also wish I had woken up sooner! I can definitely believe DEX volume is proportionately so high. All the "good stuff" is on DEXs, for the most part. The big volume CEXs just represent too much of what people are trying to get away from. I've really cut down on the alcohol lately. Health reasons, and just generally lacking a reason to drink because covid, so, I don't see people I would drink with around. I'll have a drink or two to unwind, at home, maybe once a week or so, but my tolerance is too high for me to feel good about buying enough of anything to get drunk, by myself (which is less fun anyhow). And alcohol seems more expensive than ever - maybe my imagination or the way I evaluate cost these days.

I honestly wonder if it's people's unfamiliarity with the coin and affinity for "pumping" that causes so much of (anticipated) volatility. Honestly, people need to reorient themselves away from the fantasy of get rich schemes and really dig into the reality of defi/crypto, for the good of themselves and the larger ecosystem. If people want to pool into geyser they need to do it within the next few days to hit the 3x rewards. The current geyser system will change in about 2 months, and we don't yet know the form. Coinbase will list AMPL when it's much more stable, maybe 2 years down the road. They are too tradfi minded and worried about upsetting that portion of their customer base with anything too experimental.

BAT Vs ETH: Which Publish0x token is better?

9 Aug 2020 MadMaxx

10 August 2020
I like the idea of both, for different reasons. I do like to pool the little bits of BAT I earn here and there together. However, sometimes I end up just converting this into ETH anyway for gas. There's a definite case for both. "Although it is yet to be discovered, BAT solves a problem that most cryptocurrencies do not solve at the time." - FYI, I got really confused by this sentence.

Pi Phase 2 :Testnet has arrived and Pi's first official use case.

7 May 2020 Poorboycrypto

10 August 2020
No one having this conversation is "collecting billions of tokens" or claiming Pi is going to make them a millionaire. Hyperbole like this is the last resort of people with no valid argument. The app takes literally a second a day or less. That kind of time investment is so negligible as to make almost any moderate reward down the road worthwhile. People like you jump on comment threads because they think disagreeing in a disrespectful way makes them look smart. I will never understand that. I've called people out on time-wasters plenty of times, because of the amount of tedium involved in the process, the poor infrastructure, overall poor returns on effort, etc. There's plenty of projects that are absolute shit. This one doesn't share the same features of those. I'm a little sorry I commented and got you back on this bullshit again, my bad for necroing a thread, but frankly I can't deal with this kind of posturing. I guess I'll just have to suggest to "just move on" again.

Flipping DeFiantly: XTZ, LINK & ATOM

9 Aug 2020 Thomas Wolf

10 August 2020
Could some of the growing correlation be due to increased baseline volume in ATOM? Might be that its a little more protected from market manipulation. Just a stray thought which may have no basis in fact. Really tired after today's writing marathon, lol. I had a lot of my limit sells complete today. It was nice, I tend to trade small amounts and check in on my stuff fairly infrequently these days (ridiculously busy) so sometimes I'm a little too high in my pricing and will go days before anything sells when things turn hard bearish. I really got to start putting in limit buys though. Problem is I used a lot of my cash on exchange to pay gas on longer term stuff. So, I'll have to wait a little longer.

Pi Phase 2 :Testnet has arrived and Pi's first official use case.

7 May 2020 Poorboycrypto

10 August 2020
I don't understand so much pointless negativity. Literally, at this point, the average user puts almost no labor into "mining" and receives something for virtually nothing. It's unclear what the future value may be, but considering the absolute lack of effort, I don't understand your opposition to this. It's a lot easier than some of these "airdrops" which require people to follow a dozen steps to receive coins/tokens that are similarly uncertain in value, yet people go gaga over anything listed as an "airdrop" even things that are really labor intensive and against the spirit of what an airdrop is really supposed to be. Yet simple things like this get attacked. Really senseless. On top of it, no one is convinced of anyone's superiority or expertise when they initiate stupid arguments in someone's else's comment thread over nothing. People think it's impressive, but it makes you look like a blowhard, not an expert.

Imminent death of FIAT: A reality? (A personal opinion)

29 Jul 2020 Dzoelx

01 August 2020
My point is that just isn't true to the extent you are claiming. Like I said, governments, the idea of a centralized state, is extremely new and it wasn't a standard practice in most of the world to merge the economic system with the governance system. How money and government were organized, and the link between the two was relatively heterogeneous until the rise of imperialism, which is when we start to get what is now the common model. But compare that to the history of mankind and economics? And its a relatively new development.

Out of tips today, definitely going to circle back later. Hilarious take on the daily struggle against scams and spam. Literally when I woke up this morning I had been added to six or seven telegram scam groups. I was sad to see there were a couple of people, who are probably very new to the internet and to the world of cryptocurrency who seemed to be engaging. Lots of desperate people out there looking for their "big win".

Honestly in your last comment it sounded like you were recommending investing, but sometimes it's also hard to figure out what you mean, so, maybe that was unintentional. The Compound Effect refers to compound interest, does it not? And at a daily rate of 100%? Yeah, that's not a real world example of anything. I don't underestimate small investments, they are my bread and butter. But I also value the time and energy of my readers, and I try not to hype things, and to be open to other viewpoints. I recommend that you consider this conversation in a self-critical light and think about whether you are really being fair to the people who read your posts, particularly when they offer their own information and perspectives.
