Learning how to code in my middle age - Last week before the final project

Even if you don't choose to code in your primary job role, it will be an extremely useful tool to you. I learned code as a hobbyist for tinkering with video game development. Then I started making all kinds of cool macros in spreadsheets for work and it impressed the hell out of my bosses. I use it a bit less now but my knowledge of the fundamentals still comes in handy.

I agree with this. I like python but that's because most of what I do is hack little scripts together. C# is a great language and I suggest when NewToCrypto is finished this course, that he look at learning some C# .

I know the feeling of not understanding why it works but it still does haha. Also, so much of my code is copied and pasted. Why rebuild something we already know works? You are doing well. Even if it doesn't always feel like you are making great progress.

I think you are grasping it overall. Your example shows the flexibility of solving a problem. You could approach it from different angles, some are more elegant and with fewer steps than others. Or some might be a bit better to use than others, but ultimately either solution will solve the problem. Figuring out which works best for your code often times, is where experimentation and experience comes in.

you'll get it! I find that the trick is wrapping your head around how the computer processes logic, more than the language itself. Once you really grasp that you can learn new languages with ease. You will find you like some languages more than others but in the end the computer processes logic essentially the same way. (I like python because it's plain language) C is great to start your learning because so many languages are based on it.
