7 Crucial Lessons People Often Learn Too Late in Life

By Dastan | 1% Better | 29 Jan 2020

1. If you want to "do what you love" you have to work three times as hard as anyone else.

2. Beneath anger is always fear.

3. Our everyday habits form our future selves

4. Your emotions take practice. You can practice humility, self awareness, as well as drama, resentment and conflict. Who you are emotionally is a reflection of the things you consciously or unconsciously practice. You are not born upset; you have merely practiced that emotion.

5. Everyone has his or her own agenda. It is worth acknowledging that, at the end of the day, we all must provide for ourselves. We all have out own dreams and aspirations. You cannot control others therefore. You cannot expect them to put you before themselves. Instead help others to move towards their own dreams. The relationship will move more smoothly into the right direction.

6. Achievement will never be as fulfilling as the journey. The high at the end is never worth the emotional strain to get there. If you're not able to enjoy the journey with those around you, then the end goal will become meaningless.

7. Working hard and laughter are not mutually exclusive. The best ideas come through moments of joy. Life is about having fun and having fun does not mean by default that you're not getting any things done; on the contrary.
