The Open Beta for Modern Warfare 2 is currently Live!....but at the moment it is only open to PlayStation users who have pre-ordered MW2.
The Road to MW2 Launch is upon us:
- Call of Duty NEXT aired Live on September 15th; NEXT was the "Franchise Showcase Event defining the next era of Call of Duty".
- Open Beta for PlayStation players only from September 16th thru the 20th. (Pre-Order grants Early Access to Open Beta on Sept. 16th to 17th)
- Open Beta is open for ALL Players from September 22nd thru the 26th.
- Campaign Early Access for those who have Pre-Order the Digital Edition of MW2.
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releases to all platforms on October 28th.
Call of Duty is offering 3 different versions at release:
- Standard edition for $69.99
- Cross-Gen Bundle (Console only) for $69.99
- Vault edition for $99.99
The Cross-Gen Bundle will allow Console users to play Modern Warfare 2 for both the PS4/PS5 and the Xbox One/Xbox One X and S versions.
I Love Call of Duty and I am Proud
I don't care what anyone says, Call of Duty is a staple of gaming!
COD did make a couple missteps in the past, with the advanced movement (in Advanced Warfare, Black Ops 3, and Infinite Warfare) and the lazy map design (in Ghosts and WW2). However, I believe that since the reboot of the Modern Warfare series, Call of Duty is back to making great video games.
In my opinion, Call of Duty consistently produces single-player Campaigns that are some of the best stories and experiences in all of Video Games.
I love the Multiplayer and Warzone modes as well, but I have always been a bigger fan of the Campaigns.
I prefer single player games and really good stories with great action, and Call of Duty fits that bill.
I am a PlayStation gamer so I will be playing the Open Beta on the 18th, and I will most likely be purchasing the game at release on October 28th.
