September 20, 2017, is the exact day Dapper Labs Chief Technical Officer, Dete Shirley, published ERC-721, which is the standard from which NFTs are built.
This proposal also coined the term Non-Fungible Token, and the name has stuck ever since.
International NFT Day is essentially celebrating the day that NFTs were born!
I was totally unaware that today, September 20th, was now an official holiday until I was scrolling thru Twitter and saw this tweet:
Being myself, I had to dig deeper and figure out what this was, as I had never heard of an official holiday.
As I scroll thru the website, reading each of the sections, I come across a section that mentions an Exclusive NFT in celebration of this year's NFT day.
Most importantly, it is absolutely FREE to claim!
BUT, it is only available today!

You will need a Dapper, Blocto, or Lilico wallet to claim this free NFT.
When you hit "Claim your NFT", you will be prompted to connect your wallet.
After connecting your wallet, you just need to click "Claim this FLOAT" to secure your NFT.
Wait a few moments and then you should see a message stating "FLOAT claimed successfully".
Go check your wallet and confirm your shiny, new NFT!
I think this is an amazing idea and really cool for the whole crypto/NFT community.
I rarely will ever shout out a Company, as they do not need my help, BUT in this case I feel the need to shout them out and say Thank You for putting together this celebration, and also offering an Exclusive NFT for All.
This is very cool and I would love to see move of these events/celebrations within the Crypto community.
