Hey Peeps!
I know I am a little late to the party and you all know about this news, but I still think I have something to add to the conversation.
On April 25th, 2022, Twitter's Board of Directors agreed to a $44 billion buyout offer made by the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk.
On Thursday, October 27th, the agreement finally went thru and Elon Musk now officially owns Twitter.
My whole philosophy in life is "Agree to Disagree".
Because of this, I am happy that Elon Musk is now the owner of Twitter.
I do not think it is a stretch to say that Twitter wasn't (and still isn't...yet) an open forum where all opinions can be shared freely.
Twitter is more of an echo chamber, where only specific opinions are amplified and able to be shared.
If you go against the grain or don't fit into the square peg that Twitter wants you to, then you are simply shadow-banned or kicked off the platform entirely.
Freedom of Speech is a Human Right, and Twitter has been impeding this right for years.
Please know that when I say this, I obviously do not condone any calls to violence or hate-speech. Anything like that is beyond the pale of healthy discussion.
Whether we like it or not, Twitter is extremely important for global communication and the sharing of ideas.
And because of this, it is of paramount importance that Twitter be absolutely free of any bias. Especially when the company makes decisions on whether a person, or tweet, should or should not be on the platform.
It also always bothered me that the people who claimed to be extremely tolerant, open and accepting, seem to be the most closed-minded to different opinions or ways of life.
I just know they are crying right now as Twitter is now owned by someone they hate because he plans to make Twitter open to all.
Instead of being a faceless corporation with a clear agenda, banning everyone who disagrees with their ideology.
Elon says he wants to make Twitter a town square where opinions can be shared without it resorting to violence or de-platforming.
When individuals are just kicked off a platform, what do you expect to happen? Do you think they just suddenly go "oh I guess I was wrong and should completely change my opinions"?
No they do not! They double-down on their beliefs and go to other platforms with more hate in their heart.
It creates outcasts of society, and this clearly leads to groups of people with extreme views.
The best way to change people's opinions and minds is by having an open dialogue with them.
You cannot shut people out from all conversations and then expect them to change on their own.
We have a responsibility as humans in society to work together, and to include as many voices as possible in the conversation.
The only way to a greater future for EVERYONE is through honest and open communication!

After the purchase of Twitter was complete, Elon tweeted out a video of him walking into Twitter Headquarters with a sink...to make pun joke.

It made me chuckle.
Also, go out and snag some Dogecoin (DOGE), as the rumors are swirling that Twitter will try to incorporate crypto.
