Moonwell are reported to have been exploited for over $1M.

Blocksec Phalcon on X “Our system detected a series of suspicious transactions targeting MoonwellDeFi’s smart contracts on Base and Optimism. Our analysis indicates an issue with the token price (rsETH / ETH) feed from the off-chain oracle, which was exploited — possibly by a MEV bot — resulting in losses exceeding $1M. It appears that the price used by the protocol was incorrectly updated.

Stream Finance halts withdrawals and deposits after $93M loss disclosed.

The statement on X “Yesterday, an external fund manager overseeing Stream funds disclosed the loss of approximately $93 million in Stream fund assets. In response, Stream is in the process of engaging Keith Miller and Joseph Cutler of the law firm Perkins Coie LLP, to lead a comprehensive investigation into the incident. We are actively withdrawing all liquid assets and expect this process to be completed in the near term. To keep our stakeholders informed, we will provide periodic updates as additional information becomes available. Until we are able to fully assess the scope and causes of the loss, all withdrawals and deposits will be temporarily suspended. Any pending deposits will not be processed at this time. Our decision to retain Perkins Coie LLP reflects Stream’s unwavering commitment to transparency and robust corporate governance.

Rumors are swirling that Wintermute, one of crypto’s largest market makers, is preparing to sue Binance over losses from the October 10 crash and could be the reason for today’s Bitcoin price action.  

The rumours got so loud that Wintermute CEO Evgeny Gaevoy was forced to clarify the firm has no plans to sue Binance, calling recent rumors “baseless.” He added that nothing has changed since his last statement, "Wintermute is perfectly fine, business as usual.”

Strategy proposes euro STRE share offering to fund future bitcoin buys.

Strategy, the world's largest digital asset treasury company, has filed for an initial public offering of 3.5 million shares of its euro-denominated perpetual preferred stock (STRE) to support future bitcoin acquisitions. Strategy said it plans to use the net proceeds to support general corporate purposes, including bitcoin acquisitions and working capital. The offering remains subject to market conditions, its press release said.

FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried has appealed his 25-year prison sentence, arguing he was “presumed guilty” following the 2022 collapse of the exchange. His lawyers told the appeals court that media pressure, prosecutors, FTX’s new management, and Judge Lewis Kaplan all contributed to a rush to judgment that led to a wrongful conviction.
