Coinbase aiming to be the Number 1 financial All-in-one App.
During Tuesday’s ‘System Update’ livestream Coinbase announced they will be adding Stock and ETF trading to their platform (US). They also announced the heavily rumoured prediction markets via Kalshi for events like elections and sports. The Coinbase app now integrates Solana tokens, DEX trading, AI portfolio advice, Custom Stablecoin Creation, and borrowing against your Bitcoin and Ethereum.
There was no launch of the Base token like a lot of people were hoping for, however Coinbase did take the Baseapp live for everyone rather than invite only, and announced a competition to win a share of $2M if you join before December 21st. You can join the Baseapp here

JPMorgan has migrated its tokenized deposit product, JPM Coin (JPMD), from its internal permissioned blockchain Kinexys to Coinbase’s Ethereum L2 network Base, in order to meet institutional clients’ needs for payments, collateral, and margin settlement on public blockchains.

Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which owns the NYSE, is in talks to invest in crypto payments firm MoonPay.

Bitfinex, a cryptocurrency exchange affiliated with Tether, has officially set the Maker and Taker trading fees for spot, margin, derivatives, Bitfinex Securities, and OTC trading to 0.
Bitfinex stated that the zero-fee policy is not a short-term promotion but will be implemented as a standard fee structure on a long-term basis, with no end date currently set.
